Christians are called to fight a spiritual battle against enemies such as the devil, the world, and the flesh. The Bible says that Christians should not be confused by people and that their real enemies are spiritual beings.
The bibles says in Ephesians 6:11-12
11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The devil is described as powerful, wicked, cunning, and tricky, and he slanders Christians before God. So, how are we to handle fleshly (human) enemies? I’m glad you asked.
It’s simple, it's like gathering intelligence before you go into battle. Christians can overcome evil with good. Let me give you an example.
Romans 12:20-21
20Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Final Thought,
Even if we somehow lived completely blameless lives, hard times fall on us all. Satan is real, and his main objective is to destroy.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NLT
